Whether gazing into an imagined future or peering into the past, it is
hard for even the youngest of refugees from Syria to see beyond the need
and affliction they have experienced. Ministries in Turkey are
providing heating, clothing and food to people who left everything to
escape the barbarities of the Islamic State (ISIS), and with it they are
providing Bibles in Arabic and Kurdish to help bring light to the eyes
of the oppressed. The director of one ministry to refugees in Turkey
notes, “Some of them say, ‘We ran away and came here because of the
people who are in our religion, but in here Christians are serving us.’”
Thus many refugees are finding wellness and salvation.
