GARDEN CITY, NY (ANS – Feb. 3, 2015)— She made a daring escape with her family from Hungary in 1956, and now Mary H. Metcalfe has been recognized as a National Association of Professional Women VIP Woman of the Year for her “outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.”
Mrs. Metcalfe, the wife of Australian Christian businessman, Alan Metcalfe, is the CFO / Director of Metcalfe Holdings Pty Ltd. and Safe Worlds Internet Television, Inc.
According to a news release from PRWeb, she is recognized with this prestigious distinction for “leadership in business.” As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.
Mary Metcalfe’s life story reads like an epic drama. After escaping from Hungary as a child at the height of the country’s historical revolution in 1956, Mary and her family found a safe haven in Brisbane, Australia.
“We sailed to Melbourne on the famed Lloyd Triestino, where we all celebrated my tenth birthday,” remembers Mrs. Metcalfe, whose name was then Maria. Upon docking, she would thereafter be known as Mary, in anticipation of her new life in an English-speaking country.
Since that time, Mrs. Metcalfe and her husband Alan have combined their collective efforts to open many successful business ventures during their 49 years of marriage. Today, she is a celebrated company director and international businesswoman.
Mrs. Metcalfe is the CFO / Director of Metcalfe Holdings Pty Ltd. (MHPL), which includes Jandol Pty Ltd, Harp Bankers Brokers & Traders and associated companies: Internet Business Systems, Inc. (IBS) and Safe Worlds Internet Television, Inc. Safe Worlds TV is the flagship of the group. HarpBBT is the Metcalfe's operating entity specializing in public company startups. Mrs. Metcalfe was also the publisher of Townsville Woman Magazine for three years, and one of three women selected to represent Australia for the United Nations' Year of the Woman.
Mrs. Metcalfe and her husband are currently focusing on Safe Worlds TV’s planned public listing and IPO to fund the worldwide expansion of their revolutionary internet platform designed for use where high level of privacy is required. Discovered by Alan Metcalfe in 1999, it is based on artificial intelligence and provides a platform that can be delivered globally on a scale that has never previously been available on the Internet.
