Children participate in a Christmas program that proclaims Christ in
northern India, where Hindu extremists increasingly targets such events.
Opposition is not limited to Hindu extremists; one young woman who was
recently baptized came to the wife of the married couple that leads the
ministry that put on the Christmas program, saying in tears that her
father had commanded that she marry a Hindu man. After praying, the
ministry leader told her she had no choice but to marry him, and that
perhaps through her he would come to Christ. Months later, the ministry
leader saw the young couple joyfully approaching. “We both are coming
from the church,” the young woman said; her husband had put his faith in
Jesus and was attending worship with her.
