Brunei’s legislative council meets once a year in a strict advisory capacity. This means that politics are done largely by the Sultan, and by the addresses he gives. In a recent announcement, he introduced obligatory Islamic religious studies for all schools, pointing the nation toward stricter conservatism. It concerns us that the children of Brunei are mandated to study Islam. Father, we pray that even with this indoctrination into false teachings, the knowledge of Jesus will be revealed, causing a hunger for truth.
